He gave one to me and I was glad to get this little pup all soft and glistening in its deep brown coat. I let it grow on its own for the next two months when it was more or less stable enough to walk around. It followed my family wherever we went and we were so happy with the little pet of ours. My little daughter named him Ron and that is how Ron came into being.

I knew that for a good Doberman training to get off, I needed a good book where owners penned down their experiences in handling Doberman pups. I searched online and found one good one; it had almost everything that I was looking for. Still to be doubly sure I was following the right book I went across several blogs and posts on Doberman pups and found that most of the experiences mentioned by Doberman owners were more or less the same.

Now that I was armed with a good book on Doberman training, I decided to start with the first steps in training – obedience training. I began in the morning, took out Ron by the little leash that he was on and patted him around his shoulders. You should see the joy in his little shining eyes, as he was all jumping and running about straining at the leash. Not a problem, I thought – this was just what the eBook on Doberman training was telling me. Remember, the first obedience training would be a bit on the difficult side, because the pup would be as confused as ever trying to follow what you want it to do. Therefore, you must have a ton of patience in handling this. Over the next few days, Ron was an obedient little boy, and I’ll tell you a secret here – just throw a ball and whisper, ‘Go get it’ and when he does it, reward him with a cookie. It works like a tonic.

Ron is now 2 years old and is a good little boy. He knows where he is supposed to do his stuff without messing around, and he would yelp to let you know that he needs his stuff done come what may. Be a little attentive on this and I can assure you, your Doberman training would be smooth as silk after that.

Doberman Training - Stop Your Dog Barking Problem

Doberman is among the highest breed of dogs, with lot of brightness, highly loyal, and quite compassionate when showered with love. At the same time, Doberman is an assertive and extremely active type of dog. It thrives on lot of physical activity, exercises, and continuous mental stimulation. Hence, you have to put in lot of effort in Doberman Training. Due to the assertive and confident nature of the Dobermans, the owner of Doberman also requires to be confident and assertive without hitting it and hurting its sentiments.

Excessive barking by a Doberman is a problem faced by many owners of Dobermans. They are one of the best guard dogs and they must bark to protect the householders from intruders or other dangers. Still, many dogs become obsessive about barking to such an extent that it becomes a nuisance on occasions. It is quite easy to address this problem and curb unnecessary barking through consistent and patient Doberman training.

You could easily train a Doberman to stop barking after 2 or 3 barks by using words like ‘quiet’, ‘enough’, etc. When the Doberman starts listening to such a command and stops barking, present a small treat expressing your appreciation. Sometimes, the Doberman might feel lonely and start barking to get your attention. The best Doberman training guides say to ignore the barking until it stops and then go to see the dog. This would make the Doberman understand that it should behave properly. Since Dobermans are highly intelligent, they learn these things quite fast.

It takes time to teach the Doberman when to bark and when to stop. The Doberman would require a few weeks to understand your commands to start and stop barking. You must teach these habits patiently and in a continuous fashion. Remember that the “Barking” step of Doberman Training is one of the most important.. Once the Doberman is trained properly in the habit of barking, you would never face the nuisance of excessive barking.
